King balancing in Glendale Arizona did a good job.  They cleaned, bored, honed and checked the block over.  The head had the valves ground, rockers re-bushed, ports matched and new springs.  The rods were resized, crank polished and the everything rebalanced.   I did the final cleaning, painting and assembly using new cam, lifters, pistons, rings and bearings.  I have two carb setups the original came in a box and a weber downdraft the prior owner had installed.  I rebuilt both and test fired it on the better Weber.  The original carb and all smog equipment must be made to work in order to pass local registration requirements.  In all I figure the engine work ran about $3000.
